Lauren Zylstra and Dana Sherman create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Lauren Zylstra is the Center Director and a registered teacher for Music Together You and Yours. She graduated from NYU with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and has performed as an actor and singer in both NYC and Chicago. Lauren moved to Chicagoland from NYC in 2002 and has been raising her two children along with husband Josh. She has recently begun teaching Music Together® and other early childhood voice classes at Sherwood Community Music School at Columbia College in Chicago. Currently she performs with the Lutheran Choir of Chicago where she serves as Board President. Lauren is thrilled to share her love of music and singing with her own children, you, and yours.

Dana Sherman is a professional musician and educator based in Chicago. Classically trained as a horn player, Dana has played with several orchestras across the country including the New Mexico Philharmonic, the Omaha Symphony, the Phoenix Symphony, the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She also performs regularly as a member of both the Alloy Horn Quartet and the Second City Winds. Dana teaches at an after school orchestral training program through Ravinia and teaches private horn lessons. Dana received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and completed a Master of Music degree at Northwestern University. When not playing or teaching music, Dana enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Dana is a registered teacher for Music Together You and Yours and is so happy to share her love of music with young children and their loved ones.
